Unexpectations!

So I realized I haven't blogged in awhile. But this is what has been up lately-

First of all, I went to SETC! I had a pretty good time. The drive to Kentucky was not half as bad as I thought it would be- and I had a great time staying with Melissa! =] (Separation anxiety!) haha. But I was proud of us because we were very focused the whole time, and the whole trip was very business-oriented, but fun at the same time. (Especially when we were DONE with our grueling day-long audition processes!)

So this is how it went- basically everyone has their time that they do their main audition, which is the 90 second song/monologue spiel. When you are done, like 10 minutes later you go look for your callbacks and then you have to schedule them throughout the day with the companies that called you back. The companies that called me back were The Lost Colony, which does like an outdoor drama (with Indians, of course!) and other shows as well including the Wizard of Oz! it seems like a good company to work for. The callback was a little strange however- it was in a small hotel bedroom and the director asked me awkward questions like how many other callbacks I got and things like that, but maybe thats just how they all were? It was a little hard to read. I basically just performed what I did in my initial audition again.

Also Missoula Children's Theatre called me back- which is a crazy company- basically you take 2 tour-actors together and ship them off to a different locale each week to hold auditions and put on a children's musical, with one of the tour-actors being in it as well (They switch actor/director positions every week.) You get to stay in hotels or friendly locals who offer their home up to you (And that means food as well. Pocketing per diem? yes please!) You do work every single day- but you are free at 4, so you have the rest of the day to explore the city you are in! It sounds very interesting- and pays pretty good, too! My callback with them went pretty well, I stayed for the extra interview portion, and I have pretty good credentials for it. So we'll see!

The other company that called me back was the Jenny Wiley Theatre. Technically they didn't call anyone back, but they asked for certain people's headshots and resume, and mine was one. So who knows that that means.

All in all, it would have been nice to get more callbacks- but seeing as I was only available during the summer it cut down the jobs quite a bit, I think. Regardless, I did my best and that's all I could do! I'm excited to see what happens this summer, and if nothing does- then I guess I'll just be taking some classes and working my butt off at some restaurant to make some desperately needed money! Whatever happens, will happen and will be. I just have to let it go.

On another note, I started a new blog! In my last post I discussed starting one, so here it is! Ironically, I didn't name it what i originally planned, and the first recipe is for a salad, haha- but it is not the typical salad that I hate. (Those white-ish iceberg lettuce salads with pieces of watery lettuce, red cabbage, and ranch dressing. Yuck.) So check it out if you want- it's basically my outlet for all my food rants I go on haha. If I wasn't already an actress/singer/makeup artist/jewelry & accessory designer I would be a nutritionist or some sort of health/vegetarian advocate on the side. But I have too many hobbies already. This is the best I can do. haha! :P

Anyways, Crazy For You starts tech week soon which is totally unbelievable. TIME HAS GONE BY SO FAST. I also start 83 Down tomorrow which is exciting! The show is totally crazy but it will be a lot of fun, I can already tell. So life will be significantly more stressful, but honestly- it won't be TOO bad. I mean, last year I did tech for Machinal, stage managed a One-Act, was IN a one-act, and was in 2 freestages at around the same time. So I survived then, I can survive now I think!
